2021 Chrisma: Revealing Christ
John opens his book in chapter one by looking back, showing Jesus as the eternal, creative, incarnate Word, dwelling with God before time began, declaring that in Him was life. He then goes on to REVEAL CHRIST as the Light of the world, and the Word becoming flesh. John, through his witness, was able TO SEE the Lamb of God, as he served, he was able TO HEAR the voice of God, and as he spoke, he MADE A DIFFERENCE to those around him.
As we open the year 2021, looking back at the unforeseen challenges of 2020, we can still declare Jesus as the eternal, creative, incarnate Word, dwelling with us through the Holy Spirit. In 2021 we will engage in studying the Gospel of John and our theme for the year will be; REVEALING CHRIST, MAKE HIM SEEN, MAKE HIM HEARD, MAKE A DIFFERENCE. My prayer is that during this time of fasting and prayer and beyond, Christ will be SEEN and HEARD through us. Moreover, we will be moved TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE to those around us in our homes, church and communities.
