Covid-19 Omicron variant update
The health and wellbeing of our members, adherents and visitors continues to be our priority. The recent announcement of the Omicron Covid-19 variant and increasing infection rates in the community means that we must take steps to protect our vulnerable and elderly cohorts.
In line with public health guidelines from the government and our own local risk assessments, we will be re-introducing the mandatory wearing of face coverings during our worship services, effective immediately. Exceptions will be made only for individuals who are medically exempt.
Please bring your own face covering which must donned before entering the building. Face coverings must remain affixed for the duration of our services until further notice.
We are encouraging frequent lateral flow home testing for Covid-19 before attending public gatherings. If you have difficulty accessing test kits, please contact a member of the Leadership Team.
Chrisma Covid-19 statement: Lockdown easing and phased approach
On Monday 19th July the government shifted from legislative enforcement of all COVID-19 restrictions, to guidance that emphasises the personal and corporate responsibility of individuals and organisations to protect others and themselves.
It is my belief that as many members within the body of Christ, we are called to be responsible for one another, and that includes looking out for the more vulnerable among us, as their suffering is our suffering. Therefore with the number of infections continuing to rise, and a more virulent variation of the virus known as the delta variant seemingly more transmissible than previous variants, the leadership team and I have decided that a cautious approach to the lifting of restrictions here at Chrisma is needed. Hence we will be taking the following steps towards a more gradual easing of restrictions over the next 2 months.
Registration for attending the building for worship will continue for the time being so as to help us monitor numbers
There will be a gradual increase in capacity starting 1st August. Seating to be increased to around 110 initially, still maintaining distancing where possible.
Whilst face coverings are no longer mandatory, we would still encourage the wearing of masks whilst moving around the building, but they can be removed whilst seated.
We will no longer be doing temperature scans on entry, but rely on you to stay at home and take the necessary tests if you find yourself displaying any COVID symptoms, including a high temperature.
The hand sanitisers will remain in place and available for use.
We will continue to ensure the building is well ventilated, and social distancing can be reduced to 1 m instead of the current 2 metres.
Congregational singing is now permitted, however we would ask that face coverings be worn whilst singing.
We would ask for your continued support by observing these precautionary measures, all of which will be reviewed on an ongoing basis to ensure that everyone is kept as safe as possible whilst at Chrisma during these uncertain times.
Thank you
Pastor Wayne & NTCG Chrisma Leadership team.
Chrisma Covid-19 statement:
National Lockdown 2021
The health and wellbeing of our members, adherents and visitors continues to be our priority. The recent announcement of another national lockdown by the government due to the high transmissibility of the new Covid-19 variant means that we must take steps to protect our vulnerable and elderly cohorts.
Although places of worship were not mandated to close. We have carefully considered the options and concluded that resumption of The Sunday Alternative via Zoom/YouTube is the safest approach going forward. We will continue to monitor public health updates and local requirements with a view to review our decision in the coming weeks.
Our 21 days of fasting and prayer continues as we seek God for the right start to 2021 under the theme - REVEALING CHRIST: Make Him Seen, Make Him Heard, Make A Difference. If you are in need of support for basic necessities, please visit our website where there are details of several outreach initiatives to support you and your family.
Further information and access details for our meetings will follow.

Our priority is the health and wellbeing of our members, adherents and visitors. We are taking precautions and appropriate steps in line with the most recent guidance from Public Health England (PHE) to promote social distancing. Accordingly, our reoccurring face-to-face weekly schedule inclusive of “Pioneers Club, Bible Study and Sunday Service” will temporarily pause until further notice.
Please note that we are committed to promote worship irrespective of the temporary pause and we are implementing strategies to enable this, our communication channels will be updated regularly with advice and instructions. We have also taken measures to ensure the wellbeing of the elderly and vulnerable in our church.
